Le roi de corse,  au musé de Bastia.

Savez-vous le la Corse a eu un roi? Théodore de Neuhoff fera l’objet de la prochaine exposition temporaire du musée de Bastia, du 23 mars au 15 septembre.

Elle rassemblera une centaine d’objets réunis pour l’occasion, venu de toute l’Europe.

Théodore de Neuhoff a régné moins d’une année, en 1736, sur la Corse, alors tiraillée entre Gènes et la France.

”Cette exposition est l’occasion de mettre en avant une  période confuse et paradoxale, transition entre société de cour et siècle des Lumières, et d’éclairer un personnage caricaturé par la propagande génoise et française qui  fut, sur bien des points, l’inspirateur de Pascal Paoli. Elle permet également de mieux saisir l’épisode de Théodore de Neuhoff dans le contexte des révolutions de Corse,  selon la présentation de l’exposition sur le site de la Ville de Bastia......

Do you know the Corsica had a king? Theodore de Neuhoff will be the next exhibition of the Museum of Bastia, from March 23 to September 15. it will bring together one hundred objects gathered for the occasion, came from all over Europe.

Theodore de Neuhoff ruled less than a year in 1736 on Corsica, while torn between Genoa and France.
